Crawlsonar

Choosing an AI visibility tracker

The questions to ask any vendor — including us — before you pay for GEO tracking, and a plain account of where Crawlsonar stands and where it doesn’t fit.

The checklist

  1. 1
    Which engines, really

ChatGPT alone is a fraction of the answers your buyers get. Ask for the exact list and whether each engine is sampled live or inferred.

  2. 2
    How many samples per prompt

Models are non-deterministic. One run per prompt is a coin flip; a rate over several runs from clean sessions is a measurement.

  3. 3
Share of voice and presence, separately

"Mentioned in 40% of answers" and "36% of all brand mentions" answer different questions. You want both, per engine.

  4. 4
    Competitors and cited sources

Who is named instead of you, and which pages the answers lean on — that is the to-do list, not the score.

  5. 5
    Alerts and a digest

A drop-out found three weeks later is a lost deal. Ask what triggers an alert and how fast.

  6. 6
    White-label and seats

If you report to clients, the PDF must carry your name, and your team must be able to edit without owning billing.

  7. 7
    Price per tracked prompt

Divide the monthly price by the prompt allowance. Then check whether daily cadence and all engines are included or extra.

  8. 8
    What happens on day one

An empty chart until the first scheduled run is a week of doubt. Ask how fast the first numbers appear.

On price, checked 23 August 2026: Otterly’s pricing page lists its Standard plan at $189/month ($160/month billed annually) for 100 tracked prompts on four engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot), with further engines as add-ons. Peec’s page does not publish figures in plain text; third-party reviews report a Starter plan around $95/month for 50 prompts and Pro around $245/month for 150, with three engines included and extra engines paid. Crawlsonar Growth tracks 100 prompts daily on five engines for $99/mo billed annually ($119 monthly); Pro starts at $34/mo. Prices move — check their current pages, and compare prompt allowance, cadence and included engines, not the headline.

Where Crawlsonar is not the right fit

  • You need classic rank tracking, backlink data or keyword volumes — use an SEO suite; Crawlsonar measures AI answers.
  • You need SSO/SAML, on-premise hosting or a contractual SLA — not offered today.
  • You want brand-mention monitoring across social media or the press — out of scope; we track AI assistants only.
  • You want a guarantee of being recommended — nobody can honestly sell that. We measure, alert and show the sources to work on.

Frequently asked questions

Is Crawlsonar a replacement for rank tracking or SEO suites?

No. Crawlsonar measures AI answers (and reads Google AI Overviews through a SERP API), not classic organic rankings, backlinks or keyword volumes. Most customers run it next to their SEO suite.

Can I try it before comparing?

Yes — the free plan tracks three prompts weekly with no card, and the first cycle runs when you create the project, so you can see real numbers for your brand within a minute.

What doesn't Crawlsonar do?

No SSO/SAML, no on-premise deployment, no social-listening or brand-mention monitoring outside AI answers, and no guarantee that any assistant will recommend you. Its job is to measure and alert.
